Lots of info on upcoming changes including stash tabs, significant changes in 1.1.1 (due in a couple weeks), and more.
I was real mad about this patch (I hopped on to play about an hour after it hit and boy was it no longer fun) but I feel better after this chat thing. Fixes to the actual problems might take some time but they acknowledged the mistake and made concrete promises of specific things to address and that counts for a lot with me.
Did they acknowledge the rubber banding / lag? Or the vram leaking?
I guess I’ll roll a Sorc and hope they buff them too much with patch 1.1.1.
I am overall happy to see this response even though the last patch was crap.
very much would like to see a free respec and loadout feature I’m glad they’re talking about that. I know people hate a lot of things about D3, but the armory system was nice and if we’re going to have characters that continue like this, I don’t want to have to raise three necromancers to try out different builds.
I actually agree on the vulnerable changes, it felt required, although I’ve been doing okay after I switched to a blood overpower build, it still wasn’t that strong. I do wish they had fixed the issue by buffing other things rather than by nerfing vulnerable though.
Glad they are adding more stash tabs, but the very least it feels like you need one to two stash tabs for individual character stuff, Plus another one to two for generic legendaries and gems and stuff. so only getting four total felt like they wanted you to only have one character. not as big of a deal in a season but annoying overall. imo, you should have 2-3 stash tabs unique to your character and 2-3 shared between all
only major disappointment here for me is that they are not addressing how terrible latency is for so many people.
about a third of the time I go to play the game. I just quit in 5 to 10 minutes because I ran for half that time and then rubber banded back to town. I’ve got excellent low latency internet with any other program so I know it’s not on my end. I don’t know why blizzard has such a history of failing to invest in the hardware necessary to support their games.
All in all the stuff in the article sound quite good. I suppose patch 1.1.1 will tell but I’m quietly optimistic.
All good things. I noticed there’s no mention of prioritizing the performance of the game. Like many others, I’ve had a bad time on my very respectable PC prior to 1.1 and then after this patch, it’s even worse. It’s quite the deviation from what we typically expect from blizzard (being that their games are well optimized).
Additionally, I think it’s a very big miss that they aren’t adding an ability to respec your paragon boards in one click too.
They did in a way. They discussed memory leaks and also when talking about increasing mob density they discussed needing to work on making some of the abilities more performant (it sounded like network performance) but that could impact overall game performance as well.
Ahh thank you for the info. That’s great!
lowering textures from very high to high helped me despite my PC is enough for very high.
I’m already on high textured. Nvidia 3070 TI. I think my issue is I’m trying to hit 144fps with 1440p? I’m not sure. I’m tried everything
My 3080 (10 GB VRAM) was having trouble even on High and I had to drop to Medium. It does seem to be a VRAM thing though as I recently rebuilt and my 7900 XT (20 GB VRAM) can do max textures fine. I hope they can sort that out because the VRAM on the 3070 and 3080 should be able to handle High fine.
Exactly my thought. It’s 10GB of VRAM. They need to figure out their textures because it’s not like they’re blow your socks off good. I would think they’d be better optimized.
