So I’ve been reading it for years as BCA-Chefs, instead of B-Cache-FS. I don’t know how to feel about this.
For me, btrfs will always be “butter FS”, not “better fs” (but wikipedia says that’s valid).
Anyhow, always interesting to compare how people spell these abbreviations/acronyms in their head. I have some specifically German ones - www because it’s much shorter to think than “doubleUdoubleUdoubleU”, and most of the hierarchy of directories.
I personally call it “butterface”
For some unknown reason i kept saying f-shtab instead of f-s-tab.
I always think f-stab
f-shtab
edit: wait, you mean in german spelling? As in Stab? That’s even funnier.
The constant kernel drama is honestly kind of frustrating.
Phoronix is further fueling this, sneaking bcachefs references in kernel related articles even though there’s nothing new to report on the matter.
He might as well have a bot watching commits and posting an article every hours that reads “New commits pushed to kernel, but nothing still for bcachefs”
“Niche clickbait”
