From March 24 to 27, 2026, the Cuban capital will once again host the International Convention and Fair Informatics 2026, an event that reaches its 20th edition and seeks to consolidate itself as a reference space for scientific, technological and business exchange in the country and the region.
Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, First Deputy Minister of Communications, stated that the program includes spaces for debate, exhibitions, and international cooperation dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, designed not only to showcase progress but also to promote future projects that will favor its practical application in different sectors of the Cuban economy and society.
In addition to the scientific program and the business fair, this edition will again include the “Panorama of ICT” stand, a space that is consolidating itself as a benchmark within the convention, by showing the main projects linked to the digital transformation in Cuba.
“We hope that this edition will be a barometer to measure the country’s progress in artificial intelligence and a catalyst for future developments,” he emphasized.
Yoandy Lazo Alvarado, Director of Technological Development at the Ministry of Communications and President of the Scientific Committee, specified that Informatics 2026 will include 11 scientific events that will address topics of telecommunications, digital government, digital economy, digital content, digital innovation, cybersecurity, digital education and culture, geomatics, software industry, computer science and artificial intelligence.
In addition, four special sessions will be held dedicated to the radio spectrum, scientific observatories and their link with digital transformation, the relationship of women with ICTs and a forum of Cubans residing abroad linked to technology.
In the case of the International Fair, which will take place at Pabexpo, Ariadne Plascencia Castro, president of the Business Group of Informatics and Communications (GEIC), pointed out that the fair plans to maintain a group of spaces with new characteristics compared to those that are usually organized, including the business forum and the stands that the exhibitors will occupy.
In addition, a space will be set up for the presentation of new products and services, covering the six main themes proposed by the official event website: artificial intelligence, digital economy, cybersecurity, infrastructure, connectivity and digital access, digital education and culture, and digital government.
It will also feature a space dedicated to the centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who played a significant role in the development of information technology and communications in the country.
