Ouagadougou, Nov. 13, 2025 (AIB)- The national organizing committee for the 20th edition of Digital Week announced on Thursday, during a press conference, that the event scheduled from Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 November 2025 will feature several major innovations for a digital transformation of the country.
“For this 20th edition of the maturity, we are taking a significant step forward with immersive and educational innovations designed to make a lasting impression and project our country into the future,” said the President of the National Organising Committee (PNCO) of Digital Week (SN), Borlli Michel Jonas Somé.
Somé, who is also the Secretary General (SG) of the ministry in charge of Digital Transition, specified that the event will see various major innovations for a transformation of Burkina Faso.
The SN will be held from Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 November 2025 at the SIAO site under the theme “Artificial Intelligence at the heart of digital transformation”.
Four sub-themes: “Governance, talent and market for inclusive AI”, “Infrastructure and data for sovereign AI”, “Security, ethics and respect for human rights” and “Research and development for endogenous AI”.
For him, it includes, among other things, a scientific conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) which will bring together researchers, academics and experts to discuss advances in research and local innovation, an “AI Robots” area, and “Kids Burkina” robots.
The PNCO of the SN also mentioned a “Journey to the Future”: a unique immersive experience that will transport visitors to 2035 in a Burkina Faso where AI is integrated into all sectors of daily and economic life.
“Digital Week aims to be a decisive platform for building together a shared and ambitious vision of AI in Burkina Faso, an ethical, sovereign AI at the service of human development,” Borlli Michel Jonas Somé.
In his opinion, the SN will be punctuated, among other things, by a scientific conference dedicated to AI, an international trade fair for information and communication technologies (ICT) and office automation in Ouagadougou (SITICO), a village of startups and innovation, a vast ICT training campaign, a night of the winners and ICT competitions.
This 20th edition of the National Seafarers’ Conference will be held under the patronage of the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, with Ghana as the guest of honor. The member countries of the African Union will also participate in this event in Ouagadougou.
Since 2025, the date of the first edition, the SN has established itself as the barometer of technological evolution in Burkina Faso.
