In fact, every dog is a lap dog; I’ve had Berners and a Leonberger who were all most definitely lap dogs, and they were closer to 50kg (100-something lbs). Might rupture your spleen and break a few of your ribs when they hopped on your lap to love you, but that’s the price we pay
Our is only 19kg, but she has 37 elbows. Still wants to sit on us, and from a running jump

My 75 lb (34 kg) puppy has unusually long legs, but he’s still figured out a way to fit in my lap. He has also mastered the croissant technique. Mathematicians should ask dogs for help with their unsolvable topology problems.
