I was thinking the same thing, since I was both alive in the 90s, and have read several books that talk talk about all the various theories on why crime declined so much in the 90s. Then I went to look and it seems since 2016 we’ve been on a meteoric rise and have surpassed the 90s numbers, at least when it comes to gun violence. It’s going up faster than it dropped.
Rose tinted glasses, my dude. It also depends on the location. Most places I’ve lived have gotten A LOT safer in the past 3 decades.
