Fuck jkr and the pieces of shit that give her money.
This is the Steam Deck community. Technically speaking, giving her money is not required because Deck is not a traditional games console.🏴☠️
J. K. Rowling is a transphobe, a bigot and a fascist.
The first two yes, but is she actually a fascist? Outside of her being a terf I think the rest of her political views are supposed to be pretty left leaning and anti-authoritarian.
Regardless I think enough other people were more directly involved in this game that people should be free to play it guilt free if they want to.
The fuq are you smoking
You realize that she’s taking it so far and now she’s just a MASSIVE tool of the racists and fascists, right?
And that her absolute seething hate for trans women now extends to basically all queer people? It’s literally brainrot, that level of ignorant hate.
Then on top of that the ways she holds herself in ignorance and violence is NOT left leaning at all. She’s too dumb, and is tyrannical in effect and power structure. She thinks she’s punching up, but is just punching anything in sight and can’t walk away from queer people.
She’s ACTUALLY fallen off the deep end. Her policy is NOT left at all anymore, she’s not even a politician, and in reality, all she does or stands for is her rhetoric about anti trans women, and now as it spreads onto the rest of queer people and now cis women are in danger because of what she’s done because she’s a dumb, hateful piece of shit with other dumb hateful pieces of shit who keep giving her money to play a shitty game and defend it and her publicly because, well, hey, walks like a duck.
Stop defending her, she’s not defendable anymore if you even have half a brain OR a heart.
Let the ip die, the main cast of the movies all have. Publicly. They won’t do anymore hp stuff because she’s THAT shitty and won’t give up the ip because she’s bent on spending hundreds of millions of hateful money to make the world terrible, and conservatives and dumbfucks are eating it up and feeding it to other ignoramuses.
I’m sick of pulling punches against this bullshit, it’s bullshit and we all know it. Stop defending her. Stop it.
A lot of people worked on this yes… But she did directly state that the money she makes from the game will go to transphobic causes so…
Yes you can play it as long as you don’t advertise it or give it any money
Honestly just let it die like the rest of the actual cast of the movies.
There are plenty of other great things to do with your time.
Identifying an out-group by an immutable attribute of their person, and then railing against them as inherently inferior is fascist behaviour.
Rowling is some white trash but it seems everything is fascist
nowadaysthis word lost its meaning altogetherfascist fascist nazi… doesn’t bring anything to mind anymore. Could be a brand of orange juice at this point or some children snacks
Looks like it was already a problem in 1944 as Orwell writes:
It will be seen that, as used, the word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley’s broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else.
Honestly it is unfortunate that most internet commenters are nearly illiterate and aren’t able to come up with more precise adjectives
I love this game. I’ve played it a lot on the PC. Going to install it on the deck now.
Supporting Turfs = down vote ⬇️
There were hundreds of people who worked on the game, and the game itself went out of it’s way to feature trans characters. I doubt there’s a single AAA game or mass produced product out there that isn’t partially owned by some individual who you don’t want to support, so I think singling out hogwarts legacy in particular to boycott is kind of meaningless.
You could argue that by boycotting it you’re sending a message, and just singling it out as an example, but the game already sold incredibly well and is a huge success. I don’t think there’s any reason at this point that someone who grew up enjoying harry potter and wants to play the game should feel bad about it. Seems silly to deny yourself something you might enjoy over some small change going to a billionaire you don’t like.
-
don’t support things that support nazis
-
jkr is very very rich, and very very actively a transphobe
-
she VERY actively uses her money to degrade society
-
“you’re just one person and don’t matter” is not good logic even if it were the logic here, which it’s not, because she’s so rich and powerful.
Honestly, take your head out of your anus and see that you’re justifying doing a shitty thing. She’s got garbage cancer and needs to gtfo. Let the ip die, she ruined it.
You wouldn’t say the same shit if the main proprietor were an ACTIVE Nazi. Or maybe you would also apologize on her behalf? Or does it just take some other level of mental gymnastics to justify your own ambivalence to massive injustices that aren’t at your own expense?

Sounds like terf apologia to me.
The last AAA game you played is almost guaranteed to have been worked on by at least one racist, trans phobic, radical extremist of some kind. Just something to consider.
None of them bought the UK supreme court though.
Make no mistake, it is currently impossible to engage with the harry potter franchise, at all, without contributing to the dismantling of equality.
I’m not saying don’t play the game if that’s what you enjoy. I’m just saying; you should probably keep it in the bedroom and don’t do it in front of children.
Do those one-off bigots that perhaps lended some labor to said games get royalties for the IP? If not, then this comparison is not even close to valid with a billionaire bigot raking in more wealth based on an IP they poisoned.

FYI, it’s an acronym: TERF. Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist
Personally, I disagree with Rowling’s views regarding trans women, but it’s unfair to condemn everyone involved with making the game for the IP’s creator’s backwards views, especially since she had no role in its development.
