I would like to believe this, but it looks like there’s a lack of singe marks.
It would help prevent the muffling effect you get from a cushion. If you were really feeling creative you could attach some kind of trumpet to the hole.

Ah ha, it’s silly to expect people to bend in half to.hold the bum trumpets, far better to cut a hole in a chair and fix the trumpet to the underside (but not the bottom - jumbling up.your terms could be a dis-arse-ter).
