What does it solves exactly?
It’s so abusable and there’s no take back… I feel it’s mostly an emotional solution to material issues…

It’s mostly the same as torture. Ineffective, abusable, permanent.

This is a very legitimate concern. I support the death penalty in revolutionary situations where it is necessary (I.e. disciplining wreckers and traitors in an active conflict). I think in societies like the US, it is entirely morally reprehensible and is a form of white supremacist violence.
