Cops have used explosive door breaching devices for a while now. I haven’t turned up a ton of citations, but there’s this essay from the Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute, where a seargent discusses the pros and cons of explosive breaching.

I know of 1985 but I’m sure this is a more regular occurrence.

(To clarify if unclear, the explosives used in this case was to damage the door, not to bring down the building.)
