(Does it count as a shower thought if it was my lawn getting showered? lol)
I’ve got a handful of 55-gallon rain barrels and a pump I use for watering the lawn/garden. We’ve had a pretty rainy summer, so I haven’t needed to use them much - in fact, I’ve had to dump them a few times because of the excess rainfall.
It’s been hot and dry all week, so I gave everything a good, deep soak early this morning and had this thought.
rain barrels are illegal where I live 😒
Unless they’re talking about saving the barrel for a rainy day so they can collect rainwater in it.
Yeah, but that’s taking the idiom literally which isn’t really the point of the post
I think they’re joking.
Yeah, this rain-collecting barrel? I’m saving it for a rainy day. Gonna be real useful then.
You don’t follow literalism? Our founding fathers REEEEEE
Save it for a drought day.
More apt, but doesn’t quite have the same ring to it lol.
Saving it from a rainy day.
Savings from a rainy day
Well, when you use money you’ve saved from the bank, you’re cutting a check. Barrels full of water from the sky are clearly rain checks.
Oh Christ I have 1000 gallons of rain water storage and I’m stealing that joke…
Wasn’t expecting a dad joke, but I’ll take it.
Are droughts the rainy days of the plant kingdom?
If it weren’t for the lengthy explanation after the title, I’d say this is the real “showerthoughts” post I’ve seen in weeks.
I don’t understand why this lemmy comm has such a hard time with the concept.
