We had a light switch like that at a building I worked in. One day we were told to find the camera it was hooked to. When we turned it off no cameras went off.

We pulled the wall plate and discovered someone had hard wired it and bypassed the switch. We started turning it off and every few days some kind soul would turn the switch back on.
