But, to summarize: They likely just sourced the video from an international version. This is not at all uncommon with the idea being that the English (or Chinese or Korean or whatever) text is not rendered so it can be more easily replaced either with a subtitles track or a localization team burning in their own text. But if you do neither it just ends up being blank and everyone gets confused.
One of the really cool side effects of these kinds of errors is you learn just how much text is digitally added to a lot of scenes/movies. I forget what exactly it was (I want to say a Takashi Miike crime action/drama?) but I remember watching a movie with a friend and both of us getting really confused when all the computer screens were blank. Looked it up online and those looked perfectly normal in the youtube clips and it was just a LOT of effort put in to put text on a fake LCD.
Sounds a lot like their BS reasoning for removing parts of the constitution, but okay.
I mean it’s clearly not FUD as your own link points out that this did happen at least once, and considering all the recent videos across various platforms showing that section of the movie being blank, it’s possible it has happened again and Snopes needs to catch up, unless you think a bunch of random people across social media are doctoring their video footage of them filming a screen.
And even if they are and it is FUD, that’s acceptable too. We are in the position we’re in today, globally, because of a vast international network of FUD. Fake news is shaping the future, and if leftist refuse to play that game then we all lose. The high road hasn’t gotten us anywhere so far. We are going to have to fight in the mud if we hope to gain any victories anymore.
Congrats. You just propagated some FUD
