RDJ probably doesn’t like Kimmel. Cause Kimmel ”joked” about RDJ’s drug addiction at the Oscars.

That shouldn’t matter, in the past I’ve stood up for people who I didn’t like. It didn’t stop me from doing what I viewed as the right thing to fo.

Yeah but RDJ is not a morally upstanding person. Dude is still friends with Mel Gibson because Gibson helped him decades ago. Loyalty is probably more important to him than doing the righteous thing.

Guy, screeching about loyalty to someone who helped you through drug addiction isn’t the burn you think it is. As someone with a Trumper parent who has been brainwashed I fully empathize and understand that challenge.

Your parent shows no loyalty to the human race, why should you show loyalty to them? They show no empathy for anyone who isn’t white, rightwing, “Christian”, and able bodied.

Maybe if these Trumpers experienced consequences, like being cut off by their children, they would question who they’re truly loyal to. A fascist dictator cult of personality, or their offspring.

If many people stuck to their principles, throughout the world, instead of some bullshit loyalty, then we may have avoided this global authoritarianism. But here we are.

This is peak, “I’m going to vastly simplify complex relationships and tell everyone on Reddit to ditch everyone in my life based off of two paragraphs.”

People are complex. It’s rarely that simple.

Make excuses all you want, all I know is my conscience is clear, can you say the same?

Cutting someone off doesn’t have to be permanent. We’re not children. I’ve cut off a few people in the last few years and made it clear to them why. Some are still selfish, ignorant, arseholes but some have seen the errors of their views and behaviour and changed. I speak to those people again.

The only way to make MAGAts change is to provide consequences for their actions, otherwise they’ll just continue being arseholes and you’ll just have to continue internally moaning but doing nothing to truly change anything. Words and debate usually mean nothing to that kind of person, you must provide consequences instead, and if your only “power” over them is your love, affection, attention, and care then withdraw it.

You are a different person than somebody else, though. What does what you would do matter to what others do?

It doesn’t. Besides anyway, RDJ could be doing what he thinks is the right thing, so he’s actually doing what I did.

All I said was you can do what you think is right, and it shouldn’t have to matter if you like a person or not to do so.
