Hi everyone.

The main motivation for this is that lemmy.world hosts most of the communities in the fediverse, so it’s a large point of failure.
They also have some performance issues sometimes because of their size.

What do you guys think?
The main issue is that we could lose a lot of subscribers, since there isn’t any migration function in lemmy yet. Some people may not see the post announcing a move, and not subscribe to the new community.

If you guys decide to move it, this community will be locked, and a post will be pinned to redirect people to the new community.

I’d also like some suggestions for what the new server could be.

    Hey, sorry - I’ve been taking taking a short break from Lemmy for the last couple of weeks.

    I’m personally in favor of keeping it here. I think the stability and longevity of the community here outweighs the decentralizing benefits of uprooting.
