Democrats say that Attorney General Pam Bondi’s massive overhaul of the Justice Department “will take decades to recover from,” in the wake of a contentious Senate hearing with Bondi this week.

Bondi’s defensive and combative attitude during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, in which she repeatedly refused to answer Democrats’ questions, has left many concerned about the future of the department.

Under Bondi’s leadership, more than 4,500 Justice Department employees have left, task forces dedicated to probing criminal activity have been disbanded, resources have been re-allocated to support Trump’s targeting of political opponents and more.

It will take decades because the impartial talented people have left for greener pastures. All that’s left are sycophants and people with little experience that can’t pursue careers in other fields. You can’t just get all that experience back overnight. If you purge all these people, then there’s no one left. You have to start from scratch.

Then destroy it the rest of the way. Seriously, the people that are going to be left after this tectonically idiotic episode ends - and whether or not it ends is far from a sure thing - are going to be worse than having no DoJ at all. I’m completely serious. There is not going to be any redemption for a judicial department that has been corrupted into a device solely focused on political persecution. It will need to be killed and recreated from scratch.
