I’m a frequent contributor to OSM, along with being passionate about individual privacy. Adding Flock cameras to the map has become a new hyperfixation for me. The best part is that when tagged correctly, they appear on deflock.me along with OSM. It’s a simple way to help your community know when they’re around these dystopian ALPR cameras. Deflock also has an app, although I cannot attest for it - I believe that it dumps the data into OSM too, so it may be better suited for those without OSM experience.

Really don’t care if private businesses use ALPRs as I can just not go there.

Public roads are where these things absolutely should not be.

Yeah, until you can’t go anywhere that doesn’t have them. Because that’s the inevitable future if we don’t push back.

I mean, that’s true, yes. The ones on roads (which also exist in my area) are far worse. However, it’s still a huge invasion of privacy that most people have no idea about. Plus, there may not be alternative home improvement stores in certain areas. Lowe’s and Home Depot are the only home improvement stores in my area, and both of those disgusting corps have million dollar contracts with Flock. They’re literally at every location from what I can tell on DeFlock.

ALPRs, especially Flock, are designed for police. They only exist so police can avoid getting warrants to know where you’ve been.

Your rights to privacy go out the window when you’re on private property.

However they also are meaningless on public property as of ~2003
