I hope this ends those bunk ass alphabet soup vapes I see. Who knows what THC-jdpq is doing to the random kids that aren’t ID’ed at the sketchy shops in my hometown.

Thanks! I can’t find a single long term study on even thc-p. I don’t think the general population should be guinea pigs for new synthetic cannabinoids. Didn’t go well with K2 spice.

Ahh fair. Maybe I used the wrong term. I guess I mean novel barely tested cannabinoids made through chemically altering cannabinoids naturally present in hemp. It’s a bit of a mouthful though, and these cannabinoids are generally synthesized from CBD and CBG since none are naturally present in high enough quantities to be economically viable.

To me main the main difference between spice and these newer synthesized cannabinoids is:

            1. Some have some decent testing.
            2. All start from some natural cannabinoid.
            3. Most variations are riding on argument “well it exist at 0.2% in the plant naturally, so it must be safe to smoke a vape full of it.”

THC-A and d8 seem fine. A lot of the alphabet soup ass variants seem like a race to the bottom. I think long term safety testing should come before mass production.

Also see my other comment if ya want, but these thc-p thc-o thc-jd etc are legalized through the farm bill. Even d8 is synthetic in the sense that it is synthesized from a precursor in a lab due to economics rather than trying to cencetrate it from hemp directly.

I’m not saying everything synthetic is bad or anything. Just that these are synthesized cannabinoids. Spice could be from any plant or whatever, and these all have to be synthesized from hemp.

At least delta 8 seems decently studied. I have genuinely seen a thc-jd vape in a shop. It’s basically completely unregulated in my home state. I’m all for legalizing stuff but there is a reason you usually hear the pair “legalize and regulate”.
