One of the most prominent figures on the American right and a former ally of President Donald Trump , Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene , announced on Friday that she will leave her seat in the House of Representatives starting next January.
The Republican legislator from the state of Georgia announced her decision in a video posted on social media .
Taylor Greene stated that she never managed to fit in in Washington and denounced that she has been “rejected” by the political elite since her arrival in Congress.
His resignation comes after months of public tensions with the US president , whom he criticized for his handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein , as well as for positions on foreign policy and health matters.
Trump responded by calling her a “traitor” and “eccentric ,” and warned that he would support a Republican rival if Greene sought re-election in 2026.
That distancing marked a break between President Trump and one of the voices that most defended the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement during his first term .
Its honestly really hard for to imagine the minds of American Nationalist True Believers like Greene. Like I just assumed she’s a grifter putting up a performance like most US politicians, but this honestly makes me think she’s as batshit as she’s always displayed. Which is frankly more baffling and chilling to me for whatever reason.
