After wrapping Stranger Things, Sadie Sink is about to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and there's a lot of speculation around her character.
It’s honestly weird people want stuff like hair color for actresses to match source material, when Wolverine being 120% bigger than the source material wasnt a big deal.
Something that was literally a core part of his character development, and had a science backed explanation in the lore.
But technically Emma Stone is naturally a blonde. So she’s blonde, dyes it red, then had to dye that back to blonde to play Gwen Stacy.
I mean no one really cares that Zendaya plays MJ Watson in the MCU and doesn’t match up with her comic book appearance.
That being said if you’re adapting a character, that characters appearance is part of the discussion on what to adapt, and superficial things like hair are easy to change. If you change too much of a character, you might instead consider just creating/using a different character.
I don’t think anyone cares if Sadie Sink is a redhead, blonde, brunette, neon green with blue streaks head. But right now, she’s a redhead, so people assume a redhead character.
Emma Stone, as you pointed out, is a weird one because she was also known as a redhead, who is naturally blonde.

Unrelated, but Bugonia is really good
I knew Hugh Jackman was a fairly tall dude, but I had no idea he was 11’ 5". I’m surprised more people weren’t upset about the discrepancy tbh.
My God, he’s even bigger than George Washington at 6 foot 20
No hes 20 stories high, made of radiation
