I mean, Microsoft probably wouldn’t mind it too much if everything just magically went “back to normal” right now over at OpenAI. The fact that they’ve proven themselves to be so irrational and unstable means that they’re going to have to bring their AI work in-house regardless, but that would give them time to do so in a more organized fashion.
Having OpenAI implode and everyone come to work for Microsoft instead may work out for Microsoft better in the long run, but for the next few weeks or months they’re going to be suffering from the fallout of this chaos as well.
LMAO
So are we just pretending the sister didn’t make those claims?
Cause. Y’know. That’d be bad if true.
I would also like to know about these claims. Source?
Edit:
I found this source: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/QDczBduZorG4dxZiW/sam-altman-s-sister-annie-altman-claims-sam-has-severely
I’m not going to make any claims to the validity (or lack thereof) of these claims (I obviously hope none of it is true as no one deserves any of that), but this one has me feeling doubtful about them:
“{I experienced} Shadowbanning across all platforms except onlyfans and pornhub. Also had 6 months of hacking into almost all my accounts and wifi when I first started the podcast”
Her social made makes her seem unwell. Whether that’s because of childhood trauma she mentions or whether the childhood trauma is just something from an unwell mind, I have no idea.
What was this? I didn’t catch it
I don’t think anyone is pretending. Just that I haven’t heard anything come out of those accusations.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
The promised mass exodus of virtually every OpenAI employee — including board member and chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, who led the initial move to depose Altman!
Late Sunday, the board announced that Emmett Shear, the co-founder of Twitch, would be CEO, seemingly putting an end to the possibility of Altman coming back.
Employees at the company’s San Francisco headquarters refused to attend an emergency all-hands scheduled on Sunday with new CEO Emmett Shear, according to a person familiar with the matter, who added that they responded to the announcement in OpenAI’s Slack with a “fuck you” emoji.
On Monday, employees started posting on social media that they are continuing to keep the lights on and maintain service stability for OpenAI’s developers, which we’re told is being done to ensure the company doesn’t fully implode while the board is pressured to resign.
New CEO Emmett Shear has so far been unable to get written documentation of the board’s detailed reasoning for firing Altman, which also hasn’t been shared with the company’s investors, according to people familiar with the situation.
He said in a note to employees Sunday night that his first order of business would be to “hire an independent investigator to dig into the entire process leading up to this point and generate a full report.”
