I’ve actually cracked a camera lense from a very unlucky drop. This was before waterproofing, because that phone died in a pool. The camera continued to work, mostly. There were certain angles that would cause lense flare that would make J.J. Abrams jealous. Maybe the lense is harder now but why risk it.
