Australia I guess… (Cuz I don’t wanna be on “terf Island” lol, they withdrew from EU so no more schengen access, pointless to go there)
I really want a English speaking country since I don’t really wanna learn another language, I had a advantage of being 8 when I learned English, and I no longer have that advantage.
I don’t think there’s a lot of Chinese diaspora in NZ, so Australia would fit me better.
Now the problem is, how do I even get an immigration visa there? Impossible lol
I’m honestly only "lucky"¹ to leave China because I have aunts in the US so they petitioned for my father (aka: their brother) for immigration visa… took like 10-20 years for it to process. They filed the application before I was even born.
¹I mean, if you consider moving from an authoritarian regime to a… now declining-democracy/hybrid-regime to be “lucky”
I was very technically born outside of US soil. I was born on the medical deck of The USS Enterprise (CVN-65). Since that was The Flagship of The Navy at the time, the patch of international waters I was born in was definitely US territory, at the time, but not US soil. I can run for president just fine as I am a natural born US citizen, born to a veteran, in an unbroken chain of veterans, and families that were here in 1670 and 1720. I’m as US citizen as you can get. I also have German citizenship thanks to my great-great-great-geandfather who immigrated from Bavaria.
All that is to say that I don’t have any ill feelings towards you, for wanting to flee a place that has become unsafe for you and yours.
I’m staying and fighting because it is unsafe for you and yours.
I have a very pro-democracy view that most Mainland Chinese will reject me for.
I mean, I don’t wanna live there and hear all the BS about how supposedly the CCP is “so great” and they have a firewall blocking everything.
Simultaneously, althought I do identify with certain elements of “being an American” such as the core priciples of Constitution, Democracy, Freedom, Separation of Powers, Rule of Law…, but then again 1/3 of the US is like infested with xenophobes and so called “patriots” that are actually just anti-constitution. And these anti-constitutional people has already infiltrated the government as we’ve evidently seen.
Honestly, I hightly doubt there is a democratic country that is just open arms accepting refugees like me… because I don’t think I’d really be considered a refugee yet, there are no real evidence I can provide that I’m being persecuted.
I understand the concept of not knowing where home is.
Where did I grow up? I was born in Virginia, kind of, in international waters with a huge contingency, called the USS Enterprise CVN-65, and promptly left the state not of my own volition. 5 years of my childhood, until the age of 5, in California. 5 years of my childhood in Indiana. The other 6 years before I went to university were spent in Alaska, New York, Washington/ Vancouver, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Minnesota.
My “Home” is The Earth. I firmly believe that fighting the current regimes worldwide will result in The Earth being one People, and humanity being the first unified family that makes up that people before I am allowed to die.
Moves back to my home country, China
“Comrade, you are in posession of illegal counter revolutionary memes”
🙃
(Is Canada taking refugees yet?)
Canada is one of the countries the US exploding might hit. Choose a farther nation.

Me personally, I’d choose NZ

No idea how I’d even go to Australia.

So… for now, I’m just stuck here in the US lol.
This is the only citizenship I have anyways.
