    The real issue is people forming some kinda equivalent to a parasocial relationship with media franchises

    Theyre obsessed with these imaginary worlds

    So the market tries to meet the needs of crazy obsessives because the money is in the whales.

    Best example is to look at disney adults and the consumerism around all their media properties, everyone wants to create that kinda effect
