The calls for a nationwide (US) shutdown this Friday (Jan 30) are growing louder
What you want is more people join unions so that eventually all jobs are unionized, because otherwise it’s hard to find workers. That will lead to a different dynamic between employer and employee.
One thing you can do now is join the iww for example. They can’t help you if you are forced to take a shitty job now, but if more people join you’ll eventually have power at your job.
Pretty easy if you’re not just focused on your own immediate benefits…
If nobody joins nothing will change for sure
More people would love to join the unions, but they can’t, because they’re on waitlists to join the unions.
If the IWW can’t help you actually get into your local union, then they’re not helping anybody.
Sure it’s helpful you’ll be organized for whatever comes up.
Organized with who, for what? The unemployment office? What’s going to come up there?
