But yes, laptop (ideally without a dedicated graphics card) would be better, if you want to do more than gaming. Though for gaming it’s more than enough, unless you’re into RTS.
I can’t imagine using a steam deck to do anything productive. If he’s traveling a lot it makes no sense. No one wants to drag around a monitor and KBM when they could just buy a laptop.
