Kinda weak sauce dude. It’s just a bunch of stuff most of us already know. It doesn’t account for how adaptable people have proven to be. It’s far from inevitable that any of this will lead to permanent civilizational collapse. Though certainly the dudebro types like Fuckerberg think it will, but I think they’re just paranoid, and not as smart as they think they are.
I find it hard to take people seriously when they start their argument off with gold too. Gold is no different from fiat currency. It’s only worth as much as people think it is. Historically it wasn’t even used for anything practical. It’s one of my smell tests for people who have bad critical thinking skills, quite frankly. If fiat currency was such a terrible idea then the whole world would be in far worse shape than it is.
I find it hard to take people seriously who debunk the weakest argument (the gold standard), especially “gold is not different from fiat”…
Or people who think the Zuck is paranoid. If you have billions, and you don’t, you have access to your own private military, airforce, university, r&d lab. And an entire PR machine to make sure people think you just read books and give seminars.
The downvoting, which is so predictable on platforms like this, and the endless cope from yourself and others is just that. Cope. A belief system under attack, trying to defend itself.
You didn’t try to debunk the much harsher truths, because you can’t. Humans can adapt indeed. But it will be violent and against each other, because there won’t be enough food.
You (and not just you) prefer to throw a small little stone at a vast mountain of evidence and then most certain don’t want to model any of this yourself or dig any deeper. And there’s nothing wrong with that, it is literally your mind trying to survive. The 5 stages of acceptance and all that.
Just don’t fool yourself with having a long happy life being a grandparent and having a nice retirement. The good years are behind us, but these next few years will still be acceptable.
