This reminds me of two games, PowerSlide, of which I played a demo in the early zeroes and GRIP, a more recent game like this with VR support.
I loved PowerSlide but I’ve never been able to find anything about it anywhere
GRIP is a spiritual successor and is ,in my opinion, a better game than the originals. They actual teased a sequel just last week called GRIP XR which is exciting.
I was so excited for Powerslide Slipstream, then Midway had to buy Ratbag and immediately fire everyone :(
I still have a Powerslide CD though and it still plays great. You can also buy it on GOG, not sure if they got the music working on the GOG version, since the original plays music from CD.

That reminds me of Manic Karts, a karting game with decent music. If you’d just put the game CD in a stereo, it played the soundtrack. Really cool.
