According to the source, a government official who provided The Bulwark with color photographs of the redesign, the State Department is planning a “limited run” of 25,000 Trump-emblazoned passports. My bet is this is either a soft launch before they just use this one for all passports (discouraging left of center people from getting it) or a way to encourage old MAGA people who have never considered traveling to get proof of citizenship. Either way, it’s about voting and citizenship checks, not just ego.
