edit: the correct term is roleplay national building, not game, forgive my mistakes

hey guys so coming from reddit, there used to be these sorts of games where you are a nation and do stuff, like for example i used to love playing as finland and slowly growing over time, or just dying if i am incompetent. I Wanna do this too here but i noticed no sort of stuff, so i wanna ask you guys if you’ll be willing to play this type of stuff.

This will start right after the first balkan war and just before the second one. World War One is also right across the corner

All credit for these maps goes to the reddit community of possible history

How this will work (please give me tips if you have any) every post will be 2 months, but if a major war is happening i will do 1 month per post. A nation can do whatever it wants, so long as it is at least plausible that it can happen. We will also suppose all nations have their 1913 alliences still in place at the start

I never hosted one before migrating so i might be inexperienced, but i welcome complains. See ya next time hopefully

That was semi helpful, but I still don’t quite get the gameplay.

A player picks a nation and then describe the nations actions for the turn (an in game month?, does it also last a month in real life?). The actions can be anything (?) and they just work 100%?

What happens when two player nations have competing actions?

Depends, if it’s for example land, a war will ensue and in most good NRPs (nation roleplays) there is a stat sheet for cheat nation that includes population, economy size, army active/reserve, mobilization potential etc. at least the ones I played had stuff like this. Otherwise , if two nations try getting indirect control of a nation, for example France and Germany trying to scheme for Belgium, they can try fighting each other and the host (GM), which should be pragmatic, lay out how it happens.

An example would be let’s say Russia and Germany , in this scenario, are into a war and Germany launches an offensive against Warsaw. Germany can choose to shore up itd offensive capabilities and Russia can try making defenses and see how effective it is. Some people choose to use dice rolls for this but I’m personally against it. You have a rough estimate of the troops around there and the terrain so you can determine what happens. It won’t be 100% realistic ofc.

              That helped a lot. Thanks.

So its sort of like dnd but with nations instead of characters. Sounds fun. Feel free to ping me if/when you get a game going.
