Amid growing public anger over AI and a debate over how to regulate it, a group of employers, state governors, and foundations has raised $500 million to try to figure out how to mitigate some of the worst of its potential societal impacts. When asked his thoughts on the matter, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang – who had just finished retrieving a similar amount of money from under a couch cushion – commented “aww, that sounds adorable.”
I bet they’re gonna do anything except use that money to pay people a fair wage
All they have to to is tax AI use the way they tax workers… Companies will quickly figure out that Humans are better in every way…
This is just them trying to prop up the bubble. AI is already more expensive than people.
It’s interesting to think of the desire to avoid Universal Basic Income in the context of Trump’s recent outburst about communism. Raimando was a democrat, not a republican. There are times when the parties sound too much the same.
I think if there were real trillions of value being created by AI you’d hear more of them getting on board with UBI. But since they know it’s all make-believe they don’t want to stir the pot, just keep things going long enough to cash out at a high valuation.
“Just the tip, it only hurts for a second”
Oh, that affordable healthcare and rental assistance hurts so much! You have my vote! Being able to afford groceries tastes so good!
