There’s a big difference between CDs that you can burn yourself, because those are using organic materials and the weak laser in your disk drive to burn them and professionally made disks, which are usually using inorganic materials and molds. The molds then are embossed into the datalayer of the CD, making it significantly more durable than organic discs.
