I think Fedora Kinoite is the best distro for someone coming from Windows due to KDE’s flexibility and similarity to Windows and it’s immutability. Default Ubuntu is great for people familliar with MacOS, and it can even be themed to be basically indistinguishable.
Yes and no, don’t forget hell about codecs if something not in repo u install rpm package with ostreee then huge chance that system will fail to update
