How can you have a drop more than 90 degrees?
Obtuse angle. If you’re going up, then suddenly going down, it can be more than 90 degrees. The starkest example would be a change from going up vertically to going down vertically, which would be a drop of 180 degrees. And would probably kill you.
It curves under itself and you drop partially upside down.
I went on the Balder in Sweden in 2005. At the time, it was the steepest wooden coaster in the world with a 70° drop. It was terrifying. I can’t imagine or understand who would want a 121° drop.
We rode The Emporer at SeaWorld San Diego and had the (fortunate, unfortunate?) pleasure of being seated in the front row. As soon as you leave the platform, it dangles you straight over the edge of a 90 degree drop for a few seconds before releasing you.
Ive ridden the wooden coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain (the one in the Step by Step intro) and was terrified because it definitely wasn’t built with tall people in mind and there are lots of areas where crossbeams pass right above your head. It was also really uncomfortable to ride like when you hit rumble strips on the highway in your car.

Not bad for an indoor coaster. I think it may have been slightly better if they had made it dark, like Flight of Fear.

Lol, you’re not wrong. It’s at the American Dream Mall, which is like the second largest mall in the States. The mall has an indoor ski slope that covers like 4 acres. This ride is actually part of the Nickelodeon Universe theme park that’s also inside the mall (the NU park is about 8 acres). There’s also an 8 acre water park in the mall as well. Plus a 3000-seat performing arts venue. Plus a mini-golf course, laser tag, a human crane thing, a climbing gym, other stuff I can’t remember. That’s just the entertainment part, not counting the stores and food and stuff.
You know the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where they held the World Cup final? The American Dream Mall is like literally right across the road from MetLife. And the stadium is smaller.
… I’m kind of annoyed that both the American Dream Mall and The Mall of America (America’s largest) theme parks are both “Nickelodeon Universe”. Now I’m even more mad that we lost the Camp Snoopy name. Cause that’s some bullshit, is what it is. It was unique, something from Minnesota (Schulz was born here), and freaking cool as hell. Now it’s just the same as some tiny mall in New Jersey.
I do remember hearing that there was a mall across from the MetLife stadium… didn’t realise that it was the 2nd biggest mall in the US with a literal themepark inside it!
Now I’m less impressed that there’s a roller-coast inside the mall, and more that anyone thought to make a mall so big it could fit that much inside it
I think the number of adults who’d want to ride a 100ft drop coaster, is higher than the number of adults who’d willingly travel to New Jersey.

I’ve seen the POV of this coaster and it’s something that is absolutely built for enthusiasts. I’d have to imagine most kids getting on it the first time are going on a dare. It shakes by about 2-3” while it holds for a few seconds at the top of the chain lift.
