Certainly sounds demanding to step into a project and tell them to do things differently otherwise you won’t honour them with your presence
I think it’s safe to assume they created a FOSS project, as well as all of the associated social platforms, for people to use. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to request that they make a single platform available that doesn’t exploit their users for profit.
