I wish it could be that easy, social democracy is easy to explain and works in a way that isn’t very complex, it’s easy to understand and put in practice which is more than you can say for Marxism (much love to Marx and Engels and Lenin, but it does ANYTHING but appeal to the lowest common denominator), but the unfortunate reality is that these people (good people who strive for equality, no matter how you feel about Soc-Dems) will be voted out eventually and Fascists will be put in their place to make up for the lack of record-breaking quarterly earnings for private companies. As an American, I absolutely believe we should change the national anthem to “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”, more people know the lyrics, it relates more to the American experience than the actual anthem and it’s more catchy. I can’t see any other suggestions that fit this criteria more

A lot of it is the material conditions. Biden came in while several vaccines are in. Granted he could’ve done a better job of stressing it isn’t over, but under Trump plenty of people were really concerned about how soon vaccines would come out. The virus was perceived to be more dangerous under Trump and SOME not all, some people took it more seriously. Admittedly I think Biden would’ve done better with the start of Covid than Trump but at this point it doesn’t matter and like you said, things are worse under Biden for covid overall, I’m willing to admit I’m wrong on that point. So end result, Biden doesn’t even receive that half point for his Covid promise smh
