Dammit Jim I have bills to pay
Absolutely and I will be the first to offer praise. Honestly, I think the fact that FOSS devs trend weird and neurotic is not because of anything special with Open Source but because the non-neurotic ones are pulling down 300K salaries at Google. If big tech wasn’t absorbing all of their employees mental capacity many of them would be doing FOSS for fun.
Those are great drives but I would not want one of those in the room where I sleep haha
This is not the emulation community per-se, but what happened to Near was absolutely heartbreaking.
Open source devs are often difficult, single-minded, and poorly socialized, people, but the entitlement from users is enough to make anyone go insane.
Yep! Just search for Stage9. I think this is the latest version.
Joke’s on you I’d be into that
The torrent is still available and easy to find!
I want that for me
It’s centralized and for-profit. They will have to do ads eventually or shut down.

exactly. the only kind of self expression anyone needs is going on lemmy and making smug comments.
no they need it look it up
My sad take is that I felt like I noticed a shift in the opinions of fandom after that infamous Red Letter Media review in 2012. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love those reviews and think they’re hilarious, but a lot of Redditors (and Lemmy-ers) seemed to look at the Plinkett character as someone worth emulating instead of despising.
Generations is one of my favorites. Frequently underrated, imo. I honestly might place it above First Contact but I love all of Gene’s children equally.
Apologies I see how you got that impression, I edited my comment for clarity.
Mother watched it while I was in the womb. I came out already addicted.
I don’t think this one is so bad. Polarized plating reduced the effectiveness of energy weapons the same way polarized sunglasses reduce the glare from the sun.
If anything a vague “shields up” makes even less sense.
OP asked for examples and the comment in question (along with your reply) gives the appearance that you’re both just making up nonexistent situations in order to complain about a TV show.
TFW trek fans see a scene they dont like
