Absolutely nothing about what FDR passed was socialist. FDR’s policies were capitalist concessions to labor in order to stave off actual revolution, which was a legitimate threat in the 30s, and was never intended as anything more than that meme of paying someone $100 to fuck off.

“Captured” implies it started off as anything else.

The difference being the Soviet-captured Nazis were forced at gunpoint to contribute to their R&D projects, being treated as prisoners before either being imprisoned or executed. NATO made its first supreme commander an SS member, put so many Nazis in the West German government that there were actually a higher percentage of them there than in the actual Third Reich, and let von Braun live a long and comfortable life as a free man.

This was always what was going to happen when they rolled out the SAVE plans. The entire thing relies on the government never once deciding to reneg on their end of the deal, and the second they do you’re left with a fuckton of principal on the loan still with no recompense because you were assuming that regular payments would result in forgiveness decades down the line.

This is also why the only real method for fixing the cost of college is immediate forgiveness of all federally owned loans followed by mandating cost reduction for all public universities, but then porky can’t print trillions in interest and administrative fees over the next 50 years so it was never on the table.

For what you’re spending on this, I would highly recommend throwing in a 1440p monitor. The difference from 1080p is night and day. The 7900XT will have zero issues with it, and you can find a solid 27" one for cheap nowadays so long as you’re not trying to find an OLED or something with a stupid high refresh rate.

It might be; I’ve only ever used in on Wayland to make up for Discord using its ancient version of Electron. If the canary branch Discord works for you though I’d stick to that, I was just offering another option for either yourself or people reading the post!

Related to the Discord Canary comment, Vesktop is a third-party Discord client that’s properly supported Wayland for quite some time now. I’ve been using it ever since swapping to Linux full-time to make sure streaming works correctly.

Germany was always the second strongest imperial power in Europe behind Britain from 1871 onwards, and without the English channel that would be debatable.

The Nazis’ initial success in WW2 is entirely dependent on France falling apart the second they were invaded and the Reich getting to loot the entirety of it and the low countries to keep their economy alive. Had France put up even token resistance Germany would have imploded within a few months and the European half of the war would’ve been a minor footnote in the history books next to Japan invading all of Asia.

The bank’s money is the capitalists’ money; that’s what they’re loaning out to each other and investing into stocks. A mass bank run would run through Wall Street like a wildfire.

And the FDIC is the government bailing them out, that’s the entire point of insuring money in bank accounts.

This is one of those things where I’m torn between “there’s no way the cabal of competent capitalists running this entire circus would ever allow this because a bank run would destroy the mountain of fictitious capital that is their dragon’s hoard” and “oh fuck, I’m not sure any of the cabal of capitalists that run this circus are competent anymore, they might actually do it.”

Well you see, if the US is doing something completely evil and indefensible then the only fallback for the American exceptionalism-poisoned western mind is to immediately declare that everywhere else is even worse! Otherwise we wouldn’t live in the Greatest Country on Earth™, and that’s impossible no matter how much our lying eyes say otherwise.
