Same great Dharma, new Fediverse packaging!

Oh that’s kinda cool in its own right. Two birds and all
Can you explain how to do this? I’d make the switch, honestly. Not a super techy person, but I’m willing to learn if it means a Linux phone.
Don’t forget the very well light, 4k quality picture of their anus that they do not properly clean
There is a movement to bring back the thorn. It’s actually pretty popular among English reformists. Personally, I’m in favor, but I generally don’t use it outside of certain communities, or when joking or making a point. Using it ‘in the wild’ is normally an attempt at normalizing it’s use. Personally, I’m on board, just not brave enough to be the odd one out. Especially since I’m also in favor of eth, eng, and interrobang (which I do use in the wild.). It’d make my writing too difficult for others to read it I included all of those in a normal post.
God, I wish. If I could do something like that I’d spend my days volunteering with organizations like food not bombs and local mutual aid orgs. I’d probably still have roommates, even. I don’t need much. I’m happy with a bedroom of my own, the rest of the house can be shared space. I just want to do mutual aid work and not have to worry about being evicted or starving :(
We do occasionally see a small surcharge in the US when using a card, but that’s regardless of method (swipe, insert, or tap). Very small businesses will often charge 1-5% for any debit or credit purchase, and cash price is the listed price. But again, that’s not tap specific
I’ve honestly never considered using my bank through a mobile browser. Yeah, it I can do that I’d be fine on that front.
Sniffies is completely dead here, and the dudes that are on it are gross. Grindr isn’t much better, but since everyone’s on it you can occasionally find people who are willing to use protection or hosting someone other than some bushes. I’ll try way droid and see if it works. If it doesn’t, I googled it and it says you can use Grindr from desktop if you pay… I may end up having to do that if I made the switch.
Which leaves cash app as the biggie. I’ll try waydroid, but if it doesn’t work I’ll probably end up needing to keep android or switching to iOS (I hate iPhones:( ), or maybe even getting a second phone I use exclusively for cash app. No sim, just my wifi hotspot (can you do a wifi hotspot with a Linux phone yet?). In order to prevent overdrafts and accidental charges, I never spend directly from my bank account. I transfer exactly what I’ll need for each purchase to cash app before the transaction and shop like that. Keeps me aware, and no accidental charges or surprises.
Help a non-techy out. I’ve fully switched my computers to Linux (fedora workstation, silver blue, and ubuntu). Been Linux only for several years now. Silverblue is probably my favorite. I’m willing to make the switch for my phone, too. But there are a few things I’m pretty reliant on:
My banking apps, cash app, and, embarrassing as it may be to admit, Grindr.
Any chance of getting those?
I’ve never seen a surcharge for tap to pay in the US. I’m not sure about elsewhere, but whether I’m tapping my car, my phone, or my watch I have never seen any surcharge from the retailer, my banks, or from Google.
Yeah, you’re pretty out of option for an older iron on patch. Curved needles are your best bet if you’re comfortable using them. I hate using them personally, another reason I’ll unstitch and hand sew it back together. I’ve got a machine to do some of the heavy lifting, though
Iron on patches are your friend for areas like this. Curved needles as someone else suggested also work.
But because I hate my hands, I almost always just unstitch the pocket and lining, sew the patches on, and then reconstruct the pocket and lining. Probably don’t do this, I get hyper fixated on projects and do things the long way round.
Oh that was a big part of it. Thankfully, we no longer have to deal with a rat infestation, not in a long time. But I still keep all my mason jars and jelly jars. Lol. Öld habits. They’re also great in lieu of Tupperware, and depending on the type and how much you fill them, they’re freezer safe. I love my mason jars and cast iron lol
The dichotomy of me: I have always wanted pet rats. I have also lived in a home with a horrible rat infestation. Like, to the point where whole sections of wall have been missing from them chewing them. Keep the food in plastic totes instead of cabinets, and they still chew through the totes. Wild rats, while the same species, are truly horrible to live with them. Not their fault. They’re still adorable, intelligent little creatures. But good God does it absolutely suck to have them free ranging themselves in your walls
You rock! Thank you!
It works for me on Whatsapp, but not on Eternity, the app I use for Lemmy. Wonder why. Thank you for answering though! I’m old enough that I rarely actually use emoji, and just go with emoticons, but this is cool to know!
I will completely forget to come back and check this, but if you get an answer, would you mind hollering at me and letting me know?
“my ancestors ran so I could stand”
I had one, and it was great for listening to my CDs when I was laying in bed, but if I had to actually walk anywhere I took my walkman and a bookbag full of tapes (half of which were books on tape and not actual music lol). Dealing with the skipping was just too damn irritating. Walkman was the clear winner for my use case
I’m a tech moron, but I’ve been on Linux of and on since like 07ish. Full time since 2015ish. Started with Ubuntu way back when, and I’ve jumped around from distro to distro. I’ve tried Manjaro, mint, opensuse… God, I can’t even tell you what else. I once installed that Miley Cyrus Linux and ran it for like a week as a gag. But from 2015 onward when I went full time I’ve basically just been in Fedora (including silverblue and Bazzite). I’ve got Ubuntu running on a mini PC I’m using to set up a server for jellyfin and a few other things. But as far as my daily driver goes, it’s almost always fedora. I just fucking love it.
But bear in mind here, I’m a pretty surface level user, so what I love is actually Gnome. Lol
