Vigilance and compassion
I swear to god, I’m gonna go full Indiana Jones on these fucking billionaires.
State-owned corporations vs. corporation-owned state.
Does anyone know how much nuclear infrastructure is in there?
Virtually all of it. The Pantex plant where the overwhelming majority of nuclear weapons are assembled and disassembled is in the Texas Panhandle.
Yep! Perfectly cromulent SSD. The ones people tell you to avoid are the weird “brand you’ve never heard of with a weird name DRAMless cheapo specials”
The real issue there isn’t actually the lack of dram, but the low quality components used, because it’s a super sketchy low end product. Once you get into recognizable brands and mainstream product lines, you pretty much can’t go wrong other than getting a bad deal which this isn’t at that price.
Go for it!
No no, Don, this could totally work.
Guys, don’t tell him, it’s funnier if he doesn’t know and actually just does it.
US governnment is banning the app so the company might actually just have to update the drone so that it doesn’t require an app.
What they actually mean is, “Capitalism is the only system that lets me chase my dreams of ruthlessly exploiting the poor.”
“jus love smashin boats, simple as”
Also I like that his name is basically “purple guy”
Literally everyone involved in this should never see the sun again.
The two-and-a-half war doctrine, two wars and a limited conflict.
I agree, there’s a lot that these chips have going for them. But they’re definitely not replacing xeons either, the machines they’re replacing are low-end. Mostly pentiums, celerons, i3s.
The comments are of course filled with cope, but as far as I can tell, a lot of the machines that these are replacing are quite old, like Westmere and Sandy Bridge machines appear to still be common in education and government.
A big part of the “selfishness is human nature” thought process comes from Puritan brainworms. The Protestant work ethic and the belief that one’s desire to have the basic necessities of life is inherently selfish form the basis of American capitalism, thus the idea that one must be worked beyond their limits in order to simply continue to live becomes baked into the fabric of society.
Basically everything wrong with America is John Calvin’s fault at its source.
Honestly, the bear spray will work just fine if you forget the pepper spray. The inverse is not true.
Chicken tax 2.0: the chuds will riot over tariffs so we should just go to war instead
How exactly does it help, and whom?
Dudes like this truly make meat consumption their entire personality.
The big problems with wafer scale chips are that they are HUGE, insanely expensive, and use crazy amounts of power: not a problem for server farms. Cerebras’s chips cost a few million dollars and use something on the order of 20-25kW of power, but the advantage is that a single unit has roughly the same computing power as an entire conventional server room, while using far less energy and taking up only about 15 rack units to do so. Insane amount of space savings, under 10% the size of conventional servers.
TSMC is an entirely independent company based in Taiwan province. While the while the ROC government is a majority shareholder, that doesn’t entitle the government any special command ability moreso than just any other majority shareholder of a corporation. The US is not an investor and doesn’t technically have a control over foreign corporations.
