Another incident that really pissed me off was a couple that locked their springier spaniel puppies in a crate, in the back of a SUV, with blankets over the crate. Sure they cracked the front windows…

But… it was extremy hot weather and the dogs were very nearly dead by the time they got permission to check the crate’s temp anyway- the inside of the car they could measure was just below the threshold for entry. They had to get a warrant to check the crate (which was like 110 f.)

The puppies were extremely affectionate after they got some water in them and cooled off.

I’ve worked security for a parking lot.

We’ve had several instances of people being drunk/oding, several people leaving kids and pets on cars for what would be expected to be 4+ hours.

It was a cop who told me about the quarter panels being more expensive. To be fair that particular incident, a toddler was less than alert but not unconscious. They got arrested for child endangerment/abuse (the cop sat on their car until the event let out and they came back. She was pissed.)

For pets, they’re technically property, so it’s best to let animal control make that decision- there’s some strict rules that might see you in jail. Emergency services can connect you to animal control, so if it’s bad enough they can tell you to do it and remove liability from you.

    The quarter glass!

They’re usually more expensive to replace and easier to smash.

Unless you’re actually trying to save someone, and speed is necessary…

Then it’s the side windows opposite where the person is (I.e. of the dog is in the front passenger, the driver side rear.)

This helps avoid causing injuries from the glass shattering

Also, call emergency services first, unless the kid is clearly about to die. (If they’re more or less alert you still have time to pass that liability off.)

  • So there’s zero need to directly connect the pc to the printer. Usually there’s either a microsd or similar to plug in and load to print from that.

However, if you want to, Pronterface is a useful tool for providing command inputs via usb.

It gives you a basic gui to set temperature, manually move the print bead, some telemetry (real time temp charts,) and if you really felt like it… you can print small files across the usb (or push them to the sd and tell it to print from there. Though file transfer rate is usually dog-breath slow.)

Most usefully, it has a command line interface that allows you to send manual gcodes. This is very helpful for tuning and maintenance. (For example m851 will report XYZ offset, and you can set it with for example m851 z-2.47)

Or if you use UBL, create and store the g29 meshes (and if you add t to the command it’ll report values. For example g29 l0 t will load the mesh in slot 0, and report in the box.)

    There’s a ton of useful g and m codes.

So… in AoTC, there’s that scene where ani and obi are going up to her apartment. She totally barely recognized him. meanwhile she’s all happy to see Obi.

Also, there’s that deleted scene on Naboo where she’s with her family and they’re all gushing over Ani, and she totally shuts that down. Like with revulsion.

I take two things from this. 1) She and Obi were together, and 2) Anakin dominated her mind with the force. (also see those epically awful pickup lines.)

So. My parents used to have a dachshund named Tootsie. Towards the end, she was blind as a bat and going just as deaf. (Though that may have been selective.)

Like that last weekend before they took her to the vet for the whole “we think she’s gone fully blind,” thing, I had made carnitas tacos. It’s a fan favorite. People were walking into the living room to watch whatever was on (football?).

Any how, nephew bumps my dad, dad drops a bit of carnitas.

Tootsie, who was chilling by the fire place went from dozy dog to rug shark scarfing up the bit before it ever hit the floor,

This is her- and one of my last photos of her being all “Hai!!!”
