why are comments even disabled in the first place?

censorship isnt the answer. its always abused by the party in power. so id rather have death threads, cp and genovidal remarks removed than letting my admins get burned out by every thing they dont like. im just sad that lemm.ee went this way. the fediverse is tiny compared to reddit and x but already breaking from the inside because people cant just fucking downvote, block users and scroll away. no every thing post gets put on the goldscale.

there needs to be less of it and more discussion. if someone posts something you dont like, ignore and downvote it and move on. i rather be allowed to read the other sides comments than not at all.
