Not indefinitely. The minute those reserves run dry all bets are off and y’all are in the rapids with no paddle. No fuel fucks the domestic economy on a level that is almost impossible to overstate and the war economy might as well not exist. The US army is the biggest polluter in the world by far for a reason, all that power projection requires gargantuan logistics chains, aircraft carriers, shipping of personnel, fuel for weapons. There’s also not a guarantee that allies will still have enough reserves to sell to the US or the willingness to take dollar payments when they can see that they can’t project power and the economy is heading for collapse.

Sure, but what happens when the reserves are literally dry, the country swiftly implodes and the stock market blows up and takes the dollar with it? Eventually they have to come down from their numberwang speculative grabathon and grapple with the real economy, the one where you have to manage actual resources and labor.

I doubt it. You seemed rather eager to clutch at your pearls when you implied tons of people had been clubbed to death.

China won’t bomb the US out of the blue. Start worrying about it once the US bombs them first.

I bet there’s an Alibaba listing somewhere if you’re cool with paying more for shipping than you do for your Saddam

It’s not fascism unless it’s happening to somebody who looks exactly like me and lives somewhere I could see myself living

Idk how it’s so difficult for westerners to understand that not all Muslims who consider themselves practicing Muslims observe all parts of the faith. There’s so many Catholics who disregard lent, hardly anybody listens to the dietary restrictions, there’s almost none who acknowledge Jesus’ teachings on wealth. Do all Catholics choose not to use condoms? Do all of them have the same opinion on abortion?
But I do realize it’s part of looking at the out-group as a monolith at best and a hive mind at worst.

Is it happening? I hope this means it’s happening

These would be fucking awesome for media storage. A dedicated, no-delete “favorites” disk is exactly the sort of shit that tickles my brain.

Which part is hard to understand?
Claiming that all people are like this everywhere is tantamount to genocide apologia because it implies that there’s absolutely nothing out of the ordinary about genocide. You’re basically stating this is the natural order of things and people are gonna just do this whenever sufficient political power is amassed.
That is absolutely false and ahistorical, genocides are thankfully not as common as white westerners like to pretend they are (just because they’re always involved in them), and it’s not because there haven’t been other societies in a position to enact them.
No they’re not, shut up. This is genocide apologia.

Roku app has a watchlist, but mostly I don’t bother to get around it or put it in a collection which is clunky as shit

Don’t have to make an account, for starters. Gives you more detailed control of transcoding options, audio playback and whatnot.
The UI is worse, that much is true, but that’s not the end all be all of user experience.

I don’t think transcoding is that difficult if you’ve already set up your own server. Like, that’s only a thing the admin would have to figure out and it’s a quick lookup.
I do agree with the client UI issue tho, and would like to add that the lack of a per-user watchlist is a pretty baffling decision given that it’s been widely requested for years and years and it would make it enormously more comfortable.

Huge disagree on the last part. Jellyfin has a bunch of Android, Roku, Google tv and PC clients. I struggle to think of a device me or my friends use that has a Plex client but not a Jellyfin one.
