Ubuntu is run by Canonical and people have mixed opinions about them. It mostly stems from their insistence on using snaps to run apps when other versions are supposedly faster (flatpack).
I think that’s the biggest issue otherwise Ubuntu is fine and I use it on all my VMs.
I laughed when they showed their game chat mode as some accomplishment. They spent years just making discord…
Another funny moment was when the Civ VII dude said something like “if you already have Civ VII you will be able to play the enhanced switch 2 mode!.. After purchasing the upgrade.”
They’re so unapologetically greedy.
Even as a Lemmy user, I still don’t know how the Fediverse works completely. You’re just lying to yourself if you think understanding Mastodon is easier then just making a blue sky account.
