I’ve seen people defend capitalism unironically by arguing that you can just go run off in the woods if you don’t like it, as if every square inch of land isn’t privately owned.

Even if they did, the primary isn’t issue willingness but physical fitness.

I wouldn’t say it’s nonsensical, if Russia collapses then China would be left in a very bad spot. Out of the two, Russia is definitely the more vulnerable. Part of too is them trying to keep the EU in their orbit, no better way for them to do that then to foster and uphold Russophobia.

Not to mention that Iran has an actual air defense system that they have invested rather heavily into unlike all the other countries the US bombed. Old school carpet bombing is off the table as flying expensive aircraft over Iran is simply too much risk for too little gain. Missile strikes would also be complicated by having travel to longer distances then in Ukraine/Russia, requiring more expensive longer range missiles that could be shot down more easily.

It does, but only for those that are among the “core”. With enough money you can pay your way out of almost any prison sentence. Meanwhile everyone else is subject to being man handled on the pavement for shoplifting potato chips.
