Have limped along so far by borrowing gear whenever I had a proper gig (plenty of friends in the scene) but now I have some fun money budget. The spicy pro gear is soooo stupidly expensive but about time I had real gear off my own. The cereal box bedroom toy deck only gets you so far.

Aight who has tips on how to mitigate this shit? I’m one of them ADHD cats who’s a little chaotic yet charismatic, so I’m always getting remembered and doing most of the name forgetting. Has made for probably hundreds of terrible moments where I’m absolutely dancing around the fact that I’ve forgotten an old acquaintance’s name.

I mean… I think the “Elvis never died” crowd might feel differently if Elvis was shot in the head during a televised moment in front of hundreds/thousands of eye witnesses. Harder to argue with missing skull & brain matter than an unceremonious “off-screen” death. Feels like they would have been able to actually whip up a frenzy with the martyr angle, especially if shooter was convenient for demonizing demographics.
