I don’t know much about investing, but i wonder if it would it be a good time to short those companies?
I don’t know much about investing, but i wonder if it would it be a good time to short those companies?
I remember a documentary about a famous northwest passage expedition that was never seen again. One of the inuit people they talked to during an investigation claimed they found a boat, and in the captain’s quarters they found a body in the bed with a big smile on its face. That would be absolutely terrifying, but apparently that’s what naturally happens to corpses when their lips and gums receed.
This is what the passive income 1% crowd tell the rest of us.
I wonder how much more energy it took to accomplish that compared to just shooting a rocket. Last I had heard railguns weren’t really feasible because of the absurd amount of energy they would require even with perfect efficiency.
For me, every time it suggests the correct base word, it gets the ending wrong, so I have to type out the whole word anyway. For example, if I want past tense it’ll suggest the present tense of the word.
I never thought about it that way. Basically any algorithm that sorts posts could be argued to be censorship. But you can’t sort based on straight vote either because of fake accounts and bots. I guess we are just doomed to be manipulated.
Yeah… I’m not sure I understand that comment without an example. Are you saying your field is something that takes a lifetime to master and you have to spend every waking hour working on it?
And yes the classes that I learned the most in were the ones where we would read the textbook together and do exercises during class. The worst were the ones that would just assign the chapter for you to read at home without them there as a resource if you had any questions.
I did my homework… just when it came to lazy teachers that expected you to teach yourself by assigning chapters to read from textbooks that aren’t known to be easy reads, the quality was usually lacking. It would be better if I could read the textbook with someone who knows the subject matter… ah yes I’ve got it, a TEACHER.
And you sound like you’re making excuses for shitty teachers.
The best teachers I ever had were the ones who actually taught during class and rarely had to assign homework.
If teachers don’t explains things, then what exactly are they for?
University could be a whole lot cheaper if they gave out diplomas for just reading the text books.
It seems like the only central planning the US ever does is to prop up capitalism from some inherent flaw instead of just fixing the underlying foundation.
In this specific example, my question is why pay farmers to not grow crops instead of encouraging them to create a surplus and just paying them the difference in the price drop?
Tolerable work environment is at the top of my list. If I were to even consider working at an intolerable business, I would need to be paid enough to retire after a year. We have made it so that work is life, and also now retirement is very uncertain for most young people. There’s no way I’m gonna take an intolerable job that will go on indefinitely.
It’s intentional in capitalism. Any surplus will cause the price to plummet, so for it to function properly there has to be unsatisfied demand. The government even pays some farmers to not grow things on their land.
Then why do they greedily hang onto power. They could retire and live lives of luxury beyond what most could imagine. I don’t really see any other explanation beyond insatiable egos.
If it’s about expectations, then anyone who even thinks of using nukes first should expect their nation to not exist afterward, and those personally responsible will go down in history (if there’s still a world to record it) as the dumbest most evil pieces of shit to ever live.
If it’s less effective than simply planting more plants, then it would be pointless. It’ll take a massive amount of renewable energy to have any impact. That renewable energy might be better used to help burn less fossil fuels.
No I think I’ll stay. I don’t like to put myself in a reassuring bubble, and I never said I refuse to understand, just that there isn’t anything to understand. There is no situation where risking the destruction of the world is a reasonable action.
Anyone who greedily holds onto power is an evil authoritarian in my book, and anyone who thinks nukes are an option is much much worse. There is nothing to understand. There is no position where nukes are justified. They were used when they were first made, and luckily they haven’t been used since. As soon as they are it will give everyone else the excuse to use them too. Using even one nuke runs the risk of leading to the destruction of the world. No one willing to take that risk should be allowed power, and it should be the obligation of each nations citizens to enforce that.
Ok… still not justified.
If he gets excited his tail would knock things off counters and tables.
