YouTube and Instagram have features that are in direct competition with TikTok. YouTube has even been more aggressive in promoting themselves as the TikTok alternative. On top of that the US government has an incentive to keep them (Google and Meta) happy; since the US routinely spies on its own (and other countries) citizens through these companies.
I haven’t seen anything to substantiate the fact their roommate was trans or they were dating. The only evidence we have is government agencies handing in alleged texts/a note; and they already wrongly arrested 2 people before the main killer was finally brought in (though one of them did falsely claim to be the killer, at least according to the government.)
This also all happened while the governemnt has been trying to strip rights from trans individuals. So it certainly seems way too convient for the US Gov to believe it just because they said so.
At least, thats my thoughts. Though I also wasn’t asked lol
