Because people need stable incomes and healthcare, so they start applying for jobs and get them. People aren’t quitting to be unemployed.

Yeah, I was shocked to see it pop up in my mastodon feed this morning. After denying several FOIA requests I figured they’d keep it buried out of spite.
I have the exact same setup. It works perfectly and integrates really well into home assistant if that’s your thing. Getting a coral TPU also makes object detection really easy even on low power hardware.
But also mate which is hot, caffeinated, leaf juice, is a-ok and totally not tea.
It’s a specter with a heart bleed.
I tried for a while fighting in my local facebook groups, but it just served to make me mad and didn’t put a dent in the constant barrage of nonsense. I started blocking them all and finally just stopped using facebook entirely.
It’s sad since those are really the only online groups for my town. I just have no interest in engaging in the local community now.
Re-manifested? To fix it you have to reenable manifest v2. That should be simple for a while but will get more problematic over time.
It’s a form of parasocial relationship. It can trigger the same feelings as if you were in a room with some friends chatting. You get to “know” the people’s personalities, you can anticipate their reactions to things, you get invested in their personal relationships.
That’s what this is about… Continual training of new models is becoming difficult because there’s so much generated content flooding data sets. They don’t become biased or overly refined, they stop producing output that resembles human text.
Doing good work takes time to make money, execs need those quarterly bonuses right now. Much easier to do a bunch of layoffs and get that line up now.
Roku, android TV, samsung, webOS, and a bunch of other random smart tv platforms all have plex apps. For direct hdmi I assume most people run a media center like kodi (xbmc).
Nope, both go directly from your PC to your tv. Plex does a log-in thing to their servers but that’s just an account. Jellyfin is 100% local.
For a PC and a roku on the same network I would highly recommend Plex or Jellyfin. You store the video on your pc and stream it over to the tv over the network. They’re both free, Plex is closed source and has some paid features if you want that, Jellyfin is totally open source.
I’ve been using Plex in this setup for a lot of years and its been rock solid.
The potential for distros optimized for specific tasks without needing to swap out entire kernels. A “gaming” focused scheduler probably looks different from a big data cruncher or a super multi-tasker server.
What’s funny is right at launch I would have seriously considered upgrading, but I’m on second gen Ryzen and that platform was deemed not new enough at the time. Now they’ve added a bunch of BS and even though I think they’ve removed the restriction I’m over the new shiny thing and am looking heavily into a full linux setup.
Yep Lemmy uses SMTP and in my experience most self-hostable platforms do as well. You can see in the Lemmy config documents how it gets set up: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/administration/configuration.html.
They are wholly devoted to “conserving” systems that are designed to benefit cis, white, straight, wealthy, men at the expense of everyone else. I’m not sure how that could be “good” no matter how they went about it.
Made with Gtk4, WebKitGTK, libadwaita and Flatpak.
WebKit based, which is interesting. I don’t have much experience with WebKit on Linux.
This is legal vs rude. It certainly is legal and was in the terms of service for them to use the data in any way they see fit. But, also it’s rude to bait and switch from being a message board to being an AI data source company. Users we led to believe they were entering into an agreement with one type of company and are now in an agreement with a totally different one.
You can smugly tell people they shouldn’t have made that decision 15 years ago when they started, but a little empathy is also cool.
Additionally: When you owe your entire existence and value to user goodwill it might not be a great idea to be rude to them.
Same for me, local and the other tabs work but the main timeline is failing.
