Typesetting is actually correct. In the days of the printing press, it was not feasible to have type blocks for single punctuation marks. The blocks would be too small and fragile. Punctuation marks were appended to the end of the letter. Instead of having a single block with a period (.) they had a block for each letter of the alphabet with a period. (a.), (b.), etc.
Making blocks for both (“,) and (,”) was an unnecessary expense, so they went with (,"), and the convention stuck.

Eh, after looking it up, I was correct. So I will continue thinking that.
I thought it was from when people wore “driving gloves” back in the day
Empirical means based on data. The word you are looking for is imperial.
Also, metric measurements are in base 10, so you have it backwards.

If you get setting compound (the powder you mix with water rather than the pre-mix stuff), it sets much quicker, and you can sand and paint the same day
I have never in my life heard this before. What if the window fogs up and you have to turn the defrost on?
I’m no expert, just a hobiest with a basic understanding of electricity.
If I understand correctly, you basically bridged the turn signal bulbs together when you wired in the hazard relay.
I would install 2 diodes (12v 10amp or so) between the hazard relay and the turn signal bulbs. Diodes only allow electricity to flow one way, so it should prevent current from flowing from one bulb to the other through your wiring
I’ve only ever heard the parts of a hydraulic clutch system referred to as master and slave.
I’ve also never heard a brake caliper referred to as a slave.
